A thought or two… or more…

I wrote this back in early February.

So typically I don’t go into this kind of thing, especially on this blog… but I’m fired up about something right now and how it impacts this generation, our ability to hear the Lord, and relationships.

Here are some question I’m posing to myself and mulling over in my spirit lately.

What if we were to rid ourselves of the social networks and social media?  Even if just for a month… what would that look like?  How would we conduct relationship at that point?  Would we then recognize the impact that those things have had on our minds, hearts, spirits, and relationships… ?

I recently got convicted of a deep heart issue and the Lord helped make a connection in me to why and where that issue has been fed.

I’ve noted lately how challenging it is to conduct relationship without promoting myself.  It’s so easy for me to blast someone with random tidbits of “me” without even truly sharing and engaging in the relationship.  I quickly can state “here’s what going on with me!”, “ooo, lookie what I’m doing”, etc. without even really stopping to realize half of what I’m saying.

Now, I will write some more…

If we aren’t paying attention and aren’t careful, the activities we do and the things we indulge in have an impact on not only our brains (truly, the way that society has shifted and the technology that has entered into this generation has an impact on how you process and express information – I have loads of theories on this, but I won’t get into it on this post)… but it can impact our hearts and spirits as well.

If it can impact our minds and our brains, it can soak into our hearts and our spirits… which can change how we behave and process things and can change how we conduct relationship. I believe deeper more than I ever did before that there is a spiritual root and connection to almost everything. If we are created in the image of God, and our divine Creator created this earth from the sheer reality that He spoke it into existence, why wouldn’t everything have a spiritual connection?

And if there is a spiritual connection and root to everything that’s happening on this planet, we should be careful, alert, and paying attention to the things that we do, say, think, and take in. Especially of things on the internet, social media, etc. I am so fired up on this subject, I could go on for days… but I will instead, try to organize my thoughts and not share much more until the timing is right.

Until next time… let’s all meditate on this verse and really comprehend the depth of what it means and in context with our lives.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2
