August Journal Entry…

How many thoughtless and careless things do we express, say, or do in a day?  In an hour?  In a week?

And we’ll have to stand before God for each one of them.

What if that reality truly impacted us?  How differently would we live?  Would it bring us to our knees?  Would that drive us to repentance?

The fear of God more real and penetrating… would that keep us reverent all throughout life… in each moment?

Would it soften our hearts, draw us toward the Cross, help us to be more compassionate?

If we were to recognize the bigger price and treasure our relationships and time are than our money, would we spend those and save those differently?

How come it is often so hard for us to see?  Why and how do even Christians view things so trivially?  Why are we satisfied with blinders on and indulging ourselves with whatever excuses we can conjure up for “living” foolishly?

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. – Galatians 6:7-8

I’ve seen this principle come into fruition in my own life and it is an excruciatingly painful lesson.

Run back to the Father’s arms before you have to feel the effects of such painful destruction… let the Good Sower and Good Teacher retrain/resow you and teach you how to sow to please the Spirit.
