After an incredible morning with the Lord, I logged on to work… and my sister sent me a video that touched my heart even further.  God is amazing! How He moves and works is beyond awesome and indescribable!  I will eventually blog in more detail what He’s doing to hopefully encourage others… but for now, I’ll try to sum up and then leave you with a couple of videos.

Read this quote from My Utmost for His Highest and let it really sink in. Man, God keeps using this devotional to break me down and get me right back into His arms:

“No Christian has a special work to do. A Christian is called to be Jesus Christ’s own, one who is not above his Master, one who does not dictate to Jesus Christ what he intends to do. Our Lord calls to no special work: He calls to HIMSELF.”

This is hitting me so hard… and convicting me in a major way. So often I fall into sin and the sin of following my own way (becoming my own god). I have this fleshly desire to be “special” and do “special” impacting things for the Lord… but if I forfeit my relationship with Him because I want to be “called” for a particular “purpose” and DO something “special”, I’ve lost everything.  This was the best reminder I’ve seen in a long time, I’ve written it down and taped it to my wall… I want this to sink in SO DEEP, that I remember my Master above all things. This is what following Christ is about, being with and in Him and letting nothing get in between us (even the “good actions” of impacting others). If I lose sight of Jesus, I lose sight of the goal – Him. If I get distracted by the actions of being a Christian, I am losing a grip on His reality and His way.

I’m not sure if I’m properly expressing how I need to, but hopefully in the near future I can do so effectively to properly lift His name high and draw others to HIM.  Do not lose focus on the cross or get caught up in this life and doing “special work” for Christ, that you miss the mark – HIM. Go to Him, be with Him, and walk with Him.  I’m re-learning this, and need this constant reminder.

These two videos may seem kind of off topic, but they really aren’t.  You’ll see why.  Each are around 4 minutes long, but they are worth it.  The first is one I found after my sister sent me one… I thought it’d be important to see for the back story… the second one is powerful.

Here’s the video my sister shared with me – yes, we cried.  It’s incredible to see this and the effects of God’s love and Him moving.

All Praise to our God and King!!!  He’s amazing!
